On July 4, Mr. Luhut Binsar Panjaitan, Minister of Maritime Affairs of Indonesia, visited B&M Science and Technology in Chengdu, Sichuan, and he was warmly received by Group’s chairman Chen Xuehua.

In the symposium, minister Luhut emphasized that, “the successful docking of the “Belt and Road Initiative” of China and the “Global Maritime Fulcrum” strategy of Indonesia will greatly promote the economic and trade cooperation of two countries.” The co-construction of “the Belt and Road Initiative” has complied with the historical trend of global globalization and the demands of the era of global governance system reform. At the G20 summit recently held in Osaka, Japan, president Joko also put forward to highly position the cooperation and exchange between China and Indonesia, and support China’s emerging industries to take root in Indonesia by setting industry funds and many other ways, further deepen the economic and trade relations, and strengthen the close communication and coordination within multilateral framework, so as to comprehensively drive the social and economic development of Indonesia and realize the all-win situation.

Minister Luhut expressed that: “we warmly welcome Huayou to invest in Indonesia, and we have established deep friendship and bridge of trust with Huayou.” “We have a very broad space of cooperation, and Indonesia is willing to provide Huayou with good business environment, and Huayou is expected to fully develop its technical advantages, to promote the development and rise of related industries in Indonesia, and moreover, the personnel from our two sides can further strengthen joint, develop the cooperation fields, and deepen the cooperation level, to realize mutual benefit and win-win as well as joint development! 

Chairman Chen expressed warm welcome to the minister Luhut for his leading a delegation to visit B&M Science and Technology in Chengdu, Sichuan, and mainly reported the development planning and project construction conditions of Huayou in Indonesia to the delegation. According to chairman Chen, to actively respond to “the Belt and Road Initiative” of China, Huayou has developed broad and friendly cooperation with enterprises from Indonesia and China. Huayou Cobalt’s developing nickel resources in Indonesia is the need for realization of medium and long-term development strategy planning and corporate vision of Huayou. Huayou will utilize the rich nickel and cobalt resources in Indonesia, to make innovations in the investment mode by use of its technological advantage in nickel and cobalt hydrometallurgy industry, and realize the sustainable industry competitiveness through the park construction of project clustering, enterprise clustering, and industrial integration. Moreover, Huayou will unfailingly practice the investment idea “no matter where we invest, we will make contributions to the local economic and social development”, and create a resource-saving and environmentally-friendly benchmarking project by use of our advanced technologies. Moreover, we will introduce advanced industries and technologies to Indonesia, and create the taxation job opportunities, to build a model in the economic and trade cooperation between China and Indonesia, and make contributions to the friendship and development of two peoples.

Before the symposium, accompanied by chairman Chen, the delegation led by minister Luhut visited the production line, product research & development center, and other venues of B&M in Chengdu.
