On January 10~11 of 2019, the third PAGE meeting sponsored by United Nations Environment Programme and United Nations Industrial Development Organization and undertaken by Department of Environmental Affairs of South Africa was held in Cape Town of South Africa. More than 500 experts and scholars from the government, folk society, private sector, development organization, media and the public    gathered at this meeting to develop the wide communication on environmental protection and maintenance of economic growth at the international level and the governmental level. 

The meeting was developed through the display of experience and creativity as well as the public debate, and it focused on four themes: 

      First, how to unlock the green finance;

      second, rethink the strategy and policy of green economy; 

      third, review the economic and social inclusion of the 21st century; 

     Fourth, how to develop sustainable consumption and production as well as circular economy.

This meeting aimed to drive the world to develop towards a future where human and environmental health is protected, poverty and hunger are alleviated, and peace and prosperity are developed.

At the meeting, Gao Yunhu, director of Department of Energy Conservation and Comprehensive Utilization of Ministry of Industry and Information Technology introduced the achievements obtained in development of circular economy in China around the “sustainable consumption and production –innovation and solutions of circular economy”. Assistant president Bao Wei attend this meeting on behalf of the company, and as a representative from participating enterprises, Bao Wei, in the exchanges with related officials from United Nations Environment Programme, introduced the specific measures and obtained results of Huayou Cobalt in green manufacturing and cycle industry.

Huayou Recycling Technology Co., Ltd., established in March 2017 is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Huayou Cobalt. Huayou Recycling has possessed advanced core technologies, including patented technology of physical harmless treatment of used power lithium battery monomer, and the core patented technologies of cobalt, nickel and manganese recycling of used power lithium battery, also, it has been provided with perfect recycling system, accurate traceability system, advanced intelligent manufacturing, safe monitoring protection, green production of environmental protection, and integrated solution, aiming to build into the industry benchmark. 

In July 2018, Huayou Recycling was recommended as a leading unit in pilot work of new energy automobile power battery recycling of Zhejiang Province. Huayou Cobalt led the related enterprises to develop the pilot work, with the main tasks including: recycling and dismantling network point construction, environmental protection disassembling line research & development, regenerating metallurgical recovery rate improvement, metallurgical technology research, business mode innovation and standard formulation. Currently, the company has established the renewable resources project in Quzhou, and built the automatic disassembly and metallurgical production line as full-life-cycle green manufacturing project of li-ion battery materials of Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. In addition, the exposure draft of list of enterprises satisfying Industry Norm on Comprehensive Utilization of Used Power Batteries of New Energy Automobile was issued by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and the first five enterprises were listed, and Quzhou Huayou Cobalt New Material Co., Ltd. was included.

On the future journey of development, Huayou will persist on “green manufacturing, safety and environmental protection”, guide the sound and sustainable development of industry, and march towards the goal “Fight Ten Years Two Firsts”.
