On March 7, a delegation led by Lou Jianfeng, Senior Vice President, Battery Materials, BASF visited Huayou Quzhou Industry Park, and was warmly received by Chen Xuehua, Chairman of Huayou and Chen Yaozhong, Vice President of Huayou and Vice President of Huayou New Energy Industry Group. 

Accompanied by Chen Xuehua, Lou first visited Quzhou Huayou Resources Regeneration Technology Co., Ltd. While introducing the company, Chen said that Huayou aims to become a resource-saving, green and eco-efficient industrial model by the power battery resource recycling project. Huayou will spare no efforts to develop the green and recycling industry to achieve sustainability, he added. The two sides also exchanged ideas on the process of waste battery recovery and waste battery recycling.

Then Lou visited the oxygen pressure, extracting, leaching and ternary workshops, the testing room, the production control center and the Huahai new energy project. During the visit, Chen Xuehua introduced the development and layout planning of the industrial park. Huayou has explored a new cooperation model, and created an open layout of strong combination and transnational cooperation. Taking the industrial park as the carrier, depending on advantage complementation and industrial connection, Huayou will integrate upstream and downstream resources to build a characteristic model of park-based development, and work with BASF and other world-renowned companies to develop Huayou Quzhou Industry Park into a high-level and agglomerative lithium battery new materials industry park, as well as a green and intelligent manufacturing demonstration park.

On March 8, the two sides further exchanged ideas on potential strategic cooperation. Lou expressed appreciation for Huayou’s recycling business strategy, and spoke highly of Huayou’s focus on green development and strong sense of social responsibility. BASF has stuck to the strategy of integration, BASF focusing on organic chemistry integration and Huayou focusing on inorganic chemistry integration have similar development concepts and huge potential for cooperation, he noted, hoping that the two sides would strengthen interaction and enhance mutual trust to build a new model of shared development for the lithium battery industry in cooperation.
